When to Prune Moorpark Apricot Trees
By Lois Lawrence, eHow Contributor
Moorpark apricot trees produce among the largest fruit of all apricots. Typically the orange colored fruit ripens in about mid-June. Moorpark apricots grow well in planting zones 1, 2, and 3 where low temperatures in winter can fall to 50 degrees below zero.
As with most stone fruit trees, center pruning--trimming to allow maximum exposure to sunlight-- is recommended in order to increase production and insure the strength of the tree.
