Biodynamic viticulture is a type of biodynamic agriculture. It involves applying certain biodynamic farming principles to the cultivation of grapevines. Biodynamic viticulture considers the vineyard a self-contained, self sustaining living organism. The biodynamic vineyard follows organic standards and expands on those to include metaphysical and spiritually based farming concepts. This type of viticulture is an ongoing and ever-changing process that does not follow a standard set of rules but rather focuses on figuring out what works best given the requirements of the land.
