seeds Cape Lilac, Tree-in-a-Hurry or Virgilia divaricatais a small to medium-sized tree, with a bushy, rounded to broadly conical growth habit with branches growing close to the ground. It is very fast-growing when young, attaining up to 4 feet in a year, and reaching their full height in only a few years. V. divaricata rarely exceeds 25 feet in height. This tree features hairy pinnate leaves and attractive mauve to pink pea-shaped flowers followed by leathery pods. Hardy in zones 9b-11.
