Valsa Cincta on Plum Trees
By Irum Sarfaraz, eHow Contributor | updated May 30, 2011

Plum trees are well adapted to growing in all regions of the country, and the fruit is widely used in fresh, cooked or processed form. The early flowering period of the tree, however, makes blooms highly susceptible to damage from the spring frosts. Planting the tree in an elevated spot protected from winds helps to minimize damage. Plums are also prone to a number of pathogenic infections such as valsa cincta.
