How to grow Red Poppy (red, pink, doubles) (Papaver rhoeas (mix))
Soil preference: Prefers neutral to acid soil, but is adaptable. Difficult in clay.
Sun/Shade: Needs full sun.
Moisture Requirements: Adaptable to even arid conditions.
Instructions: One of the very easiest wildflowers to grow. Simply compress the seed into bare soil during spring, summer or fall. Many seed in this favorite several times at two or three-week intervals during spring to extend its blooming season. This wildflower must develop a tap root quickly, so it often does not bloom in clay. It also prefers neutral or alkaline soils, but can adapt to some acidity. If your conditions are right, probably no other species can provide a more thrilling display of spectacular bloom.
