Rarely available, this Chinese equivalent of our native Tupelo has bronzy-purple new growth and a similar habit. Many reports claim it is not susceptible to leaf spots as is our native species. Develops yellow to red fall color. more info

Fittingly named, this LA selection has twisty braches akin to corkscrew willow(Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa') The tree does form a central leader, but the branches twist and twirl as if to a Cajun rhythm.
