Potentilla fruticosa 'McKay's White' - McKay's White Potentilla
This cultivar was developed in Wisconsin by McKay's Nursery in Waterloo. One of the larger Potentillas, it can grow as large as 4' in height and 4-5' in spread, so be sure to make room for it when specifying this plant in a landscape design. Foliage is a darker green, with the fine, grey hairs on the foliage almost making it look blue-green. Blooms will begin to pop in summer and will last well into the late growing season, providing color interest in your garden for months. Bloom color is bright white, contrasting nicely with the darker foliage. In time this plant may become scraggly-looking from stem dieback. Regular pruning of dead wood, or even renovation pruning will keep this Potentilla looking full and healthy.
The information for this plant has been provided by Jeff Pozniak, of The Ground Trades Xchange.
