Year in, year out, Nikko Blue Hydrangea renews its wide, leathery green foliage to set off the blooms waiting to come. Then solid clusters of blue, overlapping petals form into huge mounds of color. The more acid the soil, the bluer the blooms. Or, if pink is your color, sweeten the soil with lime. Blooms can be a full six inches wide, and last well as cuttings. Each plant spreads to six feet wide, grows up to waist high. A delight to own because it is truly close to carefree, and has a very long life. 1 to 1 1/2' plants. Plant 3' apart. Mature height about 3'.
