The silky, pale pink buds of 'Royal Star' open to 3-4in white flowers with as many as 25-30 strap-shaped petals. These fully double blossoms will tempt you to venture outdoors in early spring to inhale their heavenly fragrance. The showy blooms of 'Royal Star' are slightly larger than those of the straight species and, because they open about two weeks later, are less likely to be caught by late frosts. An attractively shaped, well-branched specimen tree for lawns or courtyards.
