These pine trees are commonly found growing in the southeastern parts of the United States, ranging from Texas to some parts of Florida, and the northern part of Delaware to the Southern areas of New Jersey. Loblolly Pine Trees are also quite dominant in North Carolina’s eastern half. Most of the forest areas in the southern states contain Loblolly Pine trees. Lumberjacks and the wood industry call these trees southern yellow pines. Loblolly Pine Trees can grow to about 98 to 115 feet tall. Growing them in your backyard or garden would require you to plant young trees since they become harder to transfer as their roots grab hold to the ground. Loblolly actually means low and wet place. Plant them in soil that is acidic and has some clay and they will grow happily.
