Abies Firma Known as Japanese Fir, Momi Fir, or Dixie Fir Japanese Momi Fir is not a fast growing tree and you would not want to use it as screen if you need something quick. Japanese Momi fir is a wonderful specimen tree, though. One that should be gracing more Southern Gardens. Imagine! A healthy fir in zones 8 & 9!
