Hybrid Poplar Tree - Populus deltoides x Populus nigra is a fast growing tree variety. Hybrid Poplar, on average and under normal conditions, will grow six feet per year. Plant Hybrid Poplar as a hedge, screen, windbreak, or to line a road or drive, you can expect this tree to be over 20' tall and 15' wide in just three years. It can grow to over 70' tall with a 40' spread as a shade tree. It can also be grown as pictured as a 'Living fence' variety. Plant 5 foot apart as a hedge ro windbreak.
