Hibiscus Morning Star, also known as Morning Star Rose of Sharon Hibiscus, is valued for its huge double white blossoms with red stripes that bloom June through August and often as long as to frost. Hardy Hibiscus are flowering shrubs that make a beautiful addition to any landscape as a flowering hedge or a specimen shrub plant ready for the attention it is sure to receive.

The Morning Star Hardy Hibiscus plant grows in sunny to partially shaded areas and in most any type of soil. The growth rate ranges from slow to moderate, and transplanting is easy. Hibiscus syriacus also known as Rose of Sharon and althea.

Peak blooming for the Morning Star Hibiscus generally takes place in August. Prune in late winter or early spring. Frequent severe pruning gives fewer but larger flowers; no or little pruning gives many small flowers.
