Description
Golden Spirit Smoketree is highly prized for its unusual chartreuse-yellow, golden summer foliage.

Morphology:
This is a deciduous shrub which can easily grow to a mature height of 12’ and as wide. It bears upright, but loose spreading limbs which bear ovate yellow leaves during the summer. Leaves can attain a size of 3” in width. In the fall the yellow color morphs to beautiful shades of coral and orange before being shed for the winter.

White blossoms appear in June and July in the form of long plume like panicles of white flowers.

Adaptation:
This shrub grows well on a multitude of different sites, other than those which are wet. It can be kept lower or shaped into a hedge if so desired. Annual pruning will probably cut off the flowers, but these are not the main features of this plant.

Pests:
None reported. Handling plant may cause skin irritation or allergic reaction.
