Goldbar Apricot - shoe-sole texture

A while back a tree order came in with some extra trees that got accidentally mixed with my trees. One of these was goldbar, and I went ahead and planted it.
Is anyone else growing this apricot? I can't figure out what's up with this apricot. They are nice looking, very large, but rock solid. It's been that way for two weeks. A couple even dropped, but even though they looked dark orange, the texture is like shoe soles and they are so tart that they are essentially inedible.
I guess I will find out if they eventually sweeten up and soften up. So far, two weeks of full color and still no sign of edibility.
