Composting Poultry - Avian Influenza
Composting converts nitrogenous materials such as birds and carboniferous materials like sawdust into compost. During the composting cycle heat is generated and can reach 135 to 150?F which kills most viruses. Composting poultry is an efficient, low cost way to get rid of livestock and the compost material can be used as fertilizer.

If you have livestock in any numbers take some time to read the Composting Catastrophic Event Poultry Mortalities from the University of Maryland.
