The eye-popping bright gold foliage will add a long season of color to your garden, especially in the perennial border. Like other Bluebeards, Sunshine Blue® is a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant shrub that dies back close to the ground in colder zones, then resprouts in spring. Sunshine Blue® gets even better later in the season when it produces a multitude of rich amethyst-blue flowers that last for days in a vase. A Proven Winners®/Color Choice® variety. 'Jason' PPAF

Caryopteris is a small Asian genus whose members are late-blooming, low-growing shrubs. Plants are drought tolerant, their aromatic foliage is deer resistant, and butterflies love the blooms. Bluebeards behave like perennials in colder zones, while in milder zones, they retain their twiggy top growth like shrubs. Either way, they flower best if cut to the ground to stimulate prolific new growth.
