Black Gum Trees are native to North American soil. They are commonly used as ornamental trees because their lush, dark green leaves become a bright, fiery red during fall. These trees are also known to have very hard and sturdy wood, and are usually harvested to make furniture or other lumber needs. During spring, Black Gum trees produce light green flowers that turn to purple-colored berries during summer. These trees can grow up to 100 feet tall and have very long life spans. They are very graceful trees and will look wonderful planted next to each other. They can also act as windbreakers or shade trees. Black Gum trees prefer to be planted in moist, rich soil that gets full sun. Grow one of these magnificent trees today.
