A tall, fast growing tree that usually matures at 70 - 80 feet by 2-3 feet wide. The bark is relatively smooth greenish-white to gray and is marked by thick black horizontal scars and prominent black knots. Leaves are nearly round. The name refers to the trembling of the leaves that occurs in even a slight breeze. Fall color is a good yellow. Tolerant of most soils.
