This video describes how to espalier or grow a tree on vertical and horizontal planes. This video shows espaliered fruit trees, but the technique can be used with any type of tree. Fruit trees are conducive to this gardening method because the idea is to continually prune them and train their branches so the tree overall remains low and the fruit is more accessible to pick.
