Pin Oak Trees
About Pin Oak Trees: pin oak trees are probably the most widely used native oak tree for landscaping. The pin oak is one of the faster growing oaks, and it will grow approximately 12 to 15’ over a 5 to 7 year period.

Pin Oaks have moderate water requirements and a moderate tolerance to salt and alkali soils. The pin oak tree prospers in a range of soil types including wet soils. This type of oak has pyramidal, dense, and pendulous lower branches. Pin oaks lose their lower limbs with age.

Young pin oak trees and the lower branches of older pin oaks hold leaves throughout winter. This species of oak transplants well.
