Trees have been on the minds of many Michigan gardeners this year. It seems like our landscape trees are under assault from all directions. A new problem that is cropping up across Southeast Michigan in maple trees is not, however, a major catastrophe. The name for this condition, Maple Leaf Tar Spot Disease, actually reflects that.
