Eastern redcedar (Juniperus virginiana)
Eastern redcedar, sometimes called pencil-cedar, is the most widespread juniper in the eastern United States. Eastern redcedar is found in all states east of the Great Plains, from southern Canada to Florida and west into Texas. It is primarily located in low mountains and Piedmont regions.

This site has been designed to accompany the Florida 4-H Ecology Contest and 4-H Forest Project Books . You don't have to be a 4-H'er to use it, though. Everyone is encouraged to explore Florida's forests, both outdoors and on the web.
