Does the Kelsey Dwarf Dogwood have red branches?
The Kelsey Dwarf Dogwood is an easy to grow compact rounded shrub with white flowers in the spring that produce small, white berries in the summer. Berries may be mildly toxic to humans (may cause stomach ache) but a favorite of animals. It makes a nice small plant for the shrub border or as a coarse groundcover. It grows to a height of 2-3 feet and thrives in zones 4-8.

Kelsey Dwarf Dogwood has striking dark red branches especially visible in the winter. The leaves are oval to lance-shaped and dark green. They turn red to orange in the fall. Kelsey tolerates a wide range of soils but prefers moist soil and full sun, but does best with some afternoon shade. Remove old and dead branches at ground level every 1-2 years. Shape as desired! It is a true dwarf dogwood that when fully grown has a nice globe shape.

Dogwoods do well in wet soils but are also surprisingly drought tolerant. Many dogwoods have red fall foliage and also create winter interest with their brilliant red or yellow stems. Dogwoods are fast growing and its progress depends entirely on suitable climatic zones, soil conditions and correct position in the garden.
