The North Carolina Composting Council, a chapter of the U.S. Composting Council, focuses on topics and issues impacting commercial composting and allied industries. It supports the programs of the U.S Composting Council , including the Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) program and International Compost Awareness Week. Frank Franciosi, chairman.

CORC is a council of the Carolina Recycling Association. It promotes the recycling of organic residuals and by-products in North and South Carolina. This includes, but is not limited to, the support and fostering of a myriad of appropriate systems, technologies, and products, such as composting, anaerobic digestion, vermicomposting, compostable plastics, alternative fuels, alternative energy, agricultural outreach and soil enrichment.
