Afghan Pine (Pinus eldarica) is one of the best desert pines. It thrives in heat, wind, and tolerates drought. Pyramidal in shape. It grows fast adding 1′-2′ per year and can reach 40′ tall and 15′-20′ wide. Needs good drainage. Useful as a specimen tree, windbreak, or visual barrier. Low to regular water. Hardy to USDA Zone 6.
